About Sani Lodge
Sani Lodge is dedicated to ecotourism, environmental conservation and community development. Owned and operated by members of the Sani community, the lodge reinvests its profits into projects that improve local livelihoods while strengthening the community’s connection with its forest and cultural heritage.
Located on Challuacocha Lake, within more than 100,000 acres of pristine rainforest between the Cuyabeno and Yasuni National Parks, Sani Lodge offers exceptional opportunities to explore the Amazon’s rich biodiversity. The surrounding ecosystem is home to species such as manatees, giant otters and black caimans, while guests can also experience the culture and traditions of the Sani people.
Attractive thatched-roof cabins line the shores of the lagoon. Each cabin features single or double beds, electric lighting and a modern private bathroom with a shower.
A solar-panel project is being developed to provide hot water and 24-hour electricity. At present, the lodge uses an electricity generator, which does not operate around the clock, and hot water is not currently available.
For more adventurous or budget-conscious travelers, Sani Lodge also offers a dedicated camping area with two shared bathrooms and a thatched shelter designed to protect tents from the rain.
Guests can enjoy an open-air dining area, bar and laundry service, as well as a 100-foot canopy tower offering excellent birdwatching opportunities over the surrounding rainforest.
