About Napo Wildlife Center
The Napo Wildlife Center is the most luxurious lodge in Yasuni National Park, offering an exceptional Amazon rainforest experience surrounded by pristine wilderness.
The lodge centers around a beautiful main hall where meals are served, along with comfortable social areas including a fully stocked bar, a reading lounge and a 20-foot-high observation tower offering spectacular 360-degree views of the surrounding rainforest.
Behind the main building, a short forest trail is ideal for relaxing evening strolls while enjoying the sounds and scenery of the Amazon.
Luxury Cabanas
Napo Wildlife Center features 16 luxury cabanas with spacious rooms of more than 450 square feet. Each cabana includes a king-size bed, one twin-size bed and a safety deposit box.
Private bathrooms feature on-demand hot-water showers, while private porches with lake views provide the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the surrounding wilderness.
Comfort & Services
The cabanas offer 24-hour electricity, ceiling fans and secure screened ventilation for a comfortable stay while remaining immersed in the rainforest.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Quito / Coca / Napo Wildlife Center
Depart from Quito on a 30-minute flight to Coca over the eastern Andes. After airport procedures, take a 5-minute transfer by local chiva or taxi to Francisco de Orellana Port and board a comfortable covered motorized boat.
Travel approximately two hours along the Napo River, with opportunities to spot herons, kingfishers and other birds. After reaching the Napo Wildlife Center entry dock, continue with a peaceful 1–2 hour dugout canoe ride through a narrow creek surrounded by rainforest and connected to the lake where the lodge is located.
Along the way, look for monkeys, toucans, parrots and even macaws. Arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon, enjoy the spectacular view of Añangu Lake, and receive a welcome drink and orientation.
Day 2 – Parrot Clay Licks & Kichwa Community
Start early to reach one of Ecuador’s most accessible parrot clay licks, arriving before the main activity between 7:30 and 8:30 am. Depending on weather conditions, you may observe approximately 11 species of parrots, parakeets and macaws.
Continue with a forest hike to visit the Kichwa community of Añangu and share time with a local family. Return to the creek and hike for approximately 30 minutes through terra firme forest to a second parrot clay lick, with further opportunities to see parrots, parakeets and macaws.
Enjoy a box lunch at the parrot clay lick observatory before returning to the lodge in the late afternoon.
Day 3 – Canopy Tower & Rainforest Exploration
After early breakfast, depart for the 36-meter-high canopy tower, located approximately 30 minutes from the lodge deep within the terra firme forest. Ascend the 12-floor tower to a platform built into a giant Ceiba tree and experience spectacular views above the forest canopy.
Look for colorful tanagers, Blue-and-yellow Macaws, spider monkeys, toucans and other species that are difficult to observe from the forest floor.
Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, hike along a terra firme trail through primary forest to discover the forest interior, with possibilities of seeing lizards, colorful manakins and the endemic Golden-mantle tamarin.
After the hike, explore the lake and surrounding creeks by dugout canoe, with opportunities to encounter a family of giant otters.
Day 4 – Return to Coca / Quito
Depart early for a final canoe excursion back toward the Napo River, with possibilities of seeing giant otters, monk saki monkeys and other rare birds.
After reaching the entry dock, use the facilities and board the motorized canoe for the approximately two-hour journey back to Coca. Continue to the airport for your return flight to Quito according to your departure arrangements.
Day 1 – Quito / Coca / Napo Wildlife Center
Begin with a 30-minute flight from Quito to Coca over the eastern Andes. After a short 5-minute transfer to the Napo River port, board a comfortable covered motorized boat for approximately two hours along the river.
After arriving at the Napo Wildlife Center welcoming area, continue by dugout canoe along a narrow creek connecting the Napo River with the lake. This peaceful journey offers excellent opportunities to observe monkeys, toucans, parrots and macaws before arriving at the lodge in the late afternoon.
Day 2 – Canopy Tower & Terra Firme Forest
After a buffet breakfast, visit the 36-meter-high canopy tower located about 30 minutes from the lodge. Experience life above the forest floor while observing colorful tanagers, macaws, toucans, flycatchers, spider monkeys and howler monkeys.
Return to the lodge for a typical Ecuadorian lunch. In the afternoon, climb the dining room tree tower for additional birdwatching or relax in your hammock before hiking through terra firme forest to discover the ecology and role of plants in the tropical rainforest.
Explore the surrounding creeks by canoe with opportunities to encounter giant otters. Dinner at 7:30 pm.
Day 3 – Parrot Clay Licks & Kichwa Community
Start early and paddle downstream along Añangu Creek to the welcome area. Then take the motorized boat for approximately 10 minutes to reach a parrot clay lick, where you may observe large numbers of parrots feeding on the clay.
Return to the welcome area and take a short hike to the parakeet clay lick, where hundreds of cobalt-winged parakeets may be seen in the treetops.
Lunch is served in the welcome area. In the afternoon, visit the interpretation area to learn about the traditions of the ancestral Kichwa community of Añangu. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon for a refreshing fresh juice and dinner at 7:30 pm.
Day 4 – Tiputini Trail & Creek Exploration
Hike along the Tiputini Trail through terra firme and swamp forests while searching for Golden-mantled tamarins, white-faced capuchins, two- and three-toed sloths, pygmy squirrels and other wildlife.
Return to the lodge for lunch and a well-deserved rest. In the afternoon, explore deeper areas of the surrounding creeks by paddle canoe, with further opportunities to observe unique wildlife.
After dinner, enjoy a video presentation about the Añangu community and Napo Wildlife Center.
Day 5 – Return to Coca / Quito
Enjoy an early breakfast followed by a final canoe excursion toward the Napo River. Look for giant otters, monk saki monkeys, hoatzins, black-capped donacobius and other bird species.
Continue by motorized canoe back to Coca for your return flight to Quito.
