About Napo Cultural Center
Experience a deep and unique Amazon adventure while relaxing in the heart of the Ecuadorian rainforest and enjoying delicious Ecuadorian cuisine.
Located on the south bank of the Napo River, the Napo Cultural Center sits near Yasuni National Park. The journey begins in Coca aboard a comfortable, ecological roofed canoe with an outboard motor. The river journey usually takes approximately 2 hours, with a box lunch provided for passengers.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival at Napo Cultural Center
The Napo Cultural Center is located on the south bank of the Napo River within Yasuni National Park. The journey begins in Coca aboard a comfortable motorized canoe for approximately two hours down the river. Refreshments are provided during the journey, with opportunities to observe herons, kingfishers, terns, other Amazonian shorebirds and beautiful riverside landscapes.
Upon arrival, receive a traditional welcome drink and settle into your cabins surrounded by the extraordinary biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest.
In the afternoon, enjoy a short walk to the banks of the Napo River to admire the sunset over the beaches and natural islands. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 2 – Parrot Clay Lick & Kichwa Culture
After breakfast, depart early by boat to a parrot clay lick where, depending on the season and weather conditions, you may observe approximately 11 species of parrots, including parrotlets and macaws.
Continue to the “KuriMuyu” Interpretation Center, run by women from the local community. Learn about Kichwa culture, crafts, traditions and the traditional use of natural resources directly from community members.
Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, walk toward the Añangu stream through wetlands, upland forest and seasonally flooded forest.
Board small canoes and travel through the forest with opportunities to observe nocturnal wildlife and listen to the sounds of the rainforest. Return to the lodge by motorized canoe and enjoy a traditional dinner.
Day 3 – Wayusa Tradition & Return to Coca
Optional: Wake up at 4:30 am to experience an ancestral Kichwa tradition of preparing wayusa. Listen to traditional Kichwa songs and enjoy a peaceful moment of reflection.
Return to the lodge for breakfast before boarding a motorized canoe for the journey back to Coca.
Day 1 – Arrival at Yasuni Kichwa Ecolodge
The Napo Cultural Center is located on the south bank of the Napo River within Yasuni National Park. Depart from Coca aboard a comfortable covered motorized canoe for approximately two hours down the Napo River. A box lunch is provided during the journey.
Along the way, observe herons, kingfishers, terns and other Amazonian shorebirds while enjoying the beautiful riverside landscapes.
Upon arrival at Yasuni Kichwa Ecolodge, receive a traditional welcome drink, enjoy lunch and settle into your cabin surrounded by the rainforest.

Day 2 – Parrot Clay Lick & Observation Tower
After breakfast, depart early by boat to a parrot clay lick where, depending on the season and weather, you may observe approximately 11 species of parrots, including parrotlets and macaws.

Return to the lodge for lunch and a break. In the afternoon, walk for about one hour to reach the 35-meter observation tower, with opportunities to observe birds, howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, toucans, parrots and sloths.
Return to the lodge and enjoy dinner.
Day 3 – Kichwa Community Projects & Night Canoe
After breakfast, visit community projects and learn about the Kichwa worldview, medicinal plants and traditional knowledge. Walk along the Mama Cuna trail, with opportunities to observe wildlife, ceiba trees, strangler figs, bamboo, vines and endemic vegetation of Yasuni.
Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. Later, head to the Añangu stream and board small canoes for an evening journey through the forest, with opportunities to observe nocturnal wildlife and listen to the natural sounds of the rainforest.
Return to the lodge by motorized canoe and enjoy a traditional dinner.
Day 4 – Wayusa Tradition & Return to Coca
Wake up at 4:30 am to experience an ancestral Kichwa tradition of preparing wayusa. Listen to Kichwa songs and enjoy a peaceful moment before breakfast.
After breakfast, board a motorized canoe for the return journey to Coca.
